How we met...
That's a good question, actually!
We have been friends for so long that neither one of us quite remembers when we actually met--though we can hazard a guess as to where, and narrow it to sometime around fall of 1995.
Over the next 7 years or so, we worked on many shows together, went to the same parties and concerts, and watched each others' relationships unfold from varying degrees of distance.
Then, in the fall of 2002, something magical happened. We reconnected at a show, closed down the party like a couple of young folks, and went out to breakfast afterwards. Bob jokes that seeing Bridget was the best birthday present he could have asked for, even if it was a day late!
Bob invited Bridget over for dinner that night. We ate, laughed, and talked--and discovered that we both wanted to know more. There began many late night phone calls, Wednesday night visits to Bridget at the rescue squad, and tag-alongs on various racing and athletic training outings.
(Bob fondly remembers being entranced by Bridget's remarkable beauty as he watched her from across a field of, he kids you not, sweaty and barfing cross-country runners. Apparently love is blind AND has absolutely no sense of smell!)
After a while, Bridget hardly went home ... and then she realized that she was home.
And they lived happily (or is it scrappily?) ever after!
